THE DUF!

For the sane people who love to watch movies,(those who don't are ofcourse,mad) there is a movie called "The Duf" The DUF stands for designated ugly friend. Ouch! I know. There are alot of us on this planet. Have you ever posted a picture of you and your friends and suddenly the 'hyenas' pester you for their phone numbers? These insensitive breed of humans shower them with compliments and for a second you wonder if you were just a prop on that photo. 🤷‍♀️

Sometimes,you go out with your gorgeous friends for a night out and suddenly,out of nowhere,you find yourself sitting at the table guarding phones and purses and what nots. So you even consider applying for a guard's job so you can earn extra coins to spoil yourself with crackers and crisps like the foodie that you are. Most times,a hottie will wave at and approach you while smilling,only to realize the one who caught the attention is your well made friend. Since you were already waving frantically and smiling so wide,you pretend you were just raising and waving your hand in praise. Because well,If you don't praise the Lord,the stones will. It is written.

If you have ever been in such situations,repeat after me. 'I am the designated ugly friend' When the gorgeous ones were being made,we were also being made out the remnants of the materials used. You know,so they wouldn't go to waste. Cheer up though. We are useful. We are the ones who guard drinks at the clubs to avoid 'mchele' incidences. We get to have more time to drink and actually listen to the nasty songs being played. We get to appreciate the lighting in the clubs and note the attires worn by the pretty damsels. The most important part is,we don't get groped by thirsty people dying to touch our bodies. There is a silver lining to this cloud! So don't fret. It is good to be the duf.Even though we wonder how the pretty friends came to existence. It's as if when the ingredients were being added for our formation,the ingredient 'flawlessly pretty' had already run out. Anyway,beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. We are the beasts so we'll probably end up with the Beauties. It's always,beauty and the beast. Meanwhile,si you drop your numbers and let's create a group? We can call it, "The beasts club" We'll have so much fun since well,we are never on a diet! I mean,what is that even?😊
