The annual face of Eldoret organised by Ngida Kabaka the current face of Eldoret has been trending for the past 2 weeks with models, MCs, artists, comedians and public figures in Eldoret town hyping up for the event ranked highest in E-town. This event brings models from all walks of the North Rift and the larger Rift Valley to compete for the title of who shall be representing the E-town models.
The event is set to happen on the 3rd of August at 64 resort and sporting club with close to 30 models already registered. The current face of Eldoret has faced a number of challenges in organising models for a joint kitty since he was appointed, selected and voted by E-town models and the entire public in general.
A good number of Eldoretians are anticipating for a more solid organisation in the modelling industry immediately one representative is elected. This comes after confusions on judges appointments, titles and many other issues came up. This will be the best and perfect moment to keep a close watch in who to blame when things take a different turn in the modelling industry.
The judges should not just give the title to a beauty pageant but to an intellectually reliable model with vast experience in challenges facing models in Eldoret. This is because apart from the runway, the lead model who will be crowned the title will be in charge of all models in Eldoret and organisation of modelling activities.
I personally applaud this idea because it will curb the “I am a model and designer” menace facing the current social media circle. A lot of overgrown careers have come up due to the lack of an icon to control the sprouting business. In a short period of time, every beauty queen with huge social media following has turned into a designer and model with unreliable skills leading to the field facing a lot of challenges.
With a good number of sponsors on board including Onchangwa Photography, 64 Resort and Sporting Club, Tristar airs, Beat Nation Me and the Esounds group among others the event is dubbed to be the biggest happening in the summer solstice.
The winner walks away with 30G’z worth of cash and 2 return tickets from Eldoret to Nairobi.
